Shin Hanga: A Hand Mirror

Format: Dai oban tate-e: 20" x 14"

Subject: The epitome of 'Contemporary' art. This magnificent late flowering design by the modern master of bijin ga, with its vibrant jazzy color scheme and masterly interplay of light and shade is Shinsui at his very best. Subject illustrated, double page, full color, in All the Woodcut Prints of Ito Shinsui, pages 194/195.

The impression we are offering was Shinsui's personal proof copy, and is accordingly marked with his private red square seal.

Date: 1954
