Oda designed a few shin-hanga landscapes during the 1930s, but today little is known about his life, and his woodblock prints are rarely found for sale. Several of his prints, including a copy of this one at auction, are included in the renowned Robert O. Muller collection of 20th century Japanese prints at the Smithsonian Museum in Washington D.C.
