Kuchi-e: Cherry Blossom Viewing

Artist: Kogyo
Format: Kuchi-e: 8.75" x 11"

Subject: Two dancers hand in hand wearing kimonos with the same pattern, enjoying viewing Cherry blossoms in full bloom, standing amid falling petals in the wind. They are awaiting giving a dance performance for the Cherry blossom banquet. This print was issued as the frontispiece to the well-known magazine called Bungei Club (Literature Club).

Date: 1902

Condition: Full size. The usual two vertical foldmarks. A small repair bottom right. Minor soils, stains, marks and flaws. Generally good state.

Colour: Fine colors.

Impression: Fine impression with gauffrage and lacquer used in the hair.
