Subject: Shinshun (New Year's Day) from the series Japanese Girls Month by Month.

Chiyuki Onuma designed this series of woodblocks depicting beautiful women with one image for each month in 1958 in strong pastel colors. The carving and printing was undertaken by Paul Jacoulet's artisans, who lavished the same skill and care on this set that they did on Jacoulet's productions.
