| Notes (this edition) These notes were written by the original owner/seller/auctioner of the item and may be inaccurate.: | This auction is for this great old Japanese Woodblock Print. This is an original older woodblock print by the well known Japanese artist Kawase Hasui. Print image measures 9 3/4 x 12 1/2 inches. in a 13 1/4" by 18" frame.. It is a busy Marketplace scene. Print is signed lower right. There is other writing along left margin. This print edition would have been published between 1946 and 1957. Print is clean and in very nice condition. Paper shows very light toning. Colors look very good. The paper was taped down lightly on the matte on the back,but it came off with no problem.. |

Offered for sale is an original 20th century Japanese woodblock print by Kawase Hasui (1883-1957), titled Central Market, 1936, from the series One Hundred Views of New Tokyo. It was published by The Watanabe Color Print Co. and bears a "C" type publisher's seal in the right margin. The print is in very good condition, with no condition problems to note. The dimensions are approximately 12 1/2 x 8 3/4 inches, plus full margins. |
