Offered is a Japanese woodblock print by Yamakawa Shuho titled Beauty In Kimono, published in 1936. Size is 9 1/2" by 14 1/2" on washi with strong bleedthrough. Condition is very good. There is some waviness in paper, several specks of foxing right margin, one tiny tear top edge, toning in margins, some toning patches in image, minor overall toning, minor mounting residue top reverse corners, signs of handling overall, paper integrity is fine. Print is done by the typical Japanese woodcut method. The artist is Shuho Yamakawa, one of Japan's leading woodcut artists. Picture is of a woman that shows personality and a spirit of defiance. In great condition with some slight wear to edges. Measures 15" x 10." Came with a bunch of literature from the 1920's. Fresh from an estate.

This magazine captures the history, events, Industry, trade, and everyday events and life of the time. Also included is all 14 color plates with protective pages intact. Including MODERN "MUSUME". It is done in the typical Japanese woodcut method. The artist is Shuho Yamakawa. Absolutely stunning! Many pages of business advertisements for both America and Japan.

Magazine is complete with no missing pages. There are a few pages that are starting to come loose, spine is worn through on the bottom part, age related yellowing, some small tears, creases, and worn areas. Color plates are all in pretty decent shape.

Measures approx: 15" x 10-3/8" x 3/4" thick
