Mr. Walker – I have attached some pictures of two woodblock prints I have by Kunihiro Amano that I am interested in selling. One with the large bird is 21 ½ x 14 ½(actual printed area), 33/50, '61.11. It, unfortunately has a slight tear in the upper middle edge of the paper. The other print of the rocks and birds is 22 ¼ x 15 ¼, 2/50, '63.1. Both were purchased in Japan by my father, probably in the mid 60’s to early 70’s when he was a commercial airline pilot with Pan Am. I can’t be certain, but I think he may have purchased them at the Yoseido Gallery, 5-15 Ginza, Tokyo, as I have several receipts from that gallery – one of which is definitely not for either as it is for a print by Shogo Okamoto(dated 1969 or 1967 hard to read that last digit). The other receipt states that it is for ”Original works of Art Modern Japanese one print with Frame Fream” - with a typewriter attempt to cross out “Frame”. Above that is typed “Ten Thousand Five Hundred Yen Only Y10,500.-“ The receipts are charming by themselves, with their affixed stamps and red hanko stamps!
