Sunday, 5 February 2006 SIGNED WOOD BLOCK PRINTS Takahashi Hiroaki (Shotei) (1871-1944) IN ORIGINAL FRAMES This auction is for a pair of fabulous Shotei Wood block prints in their original frames. Each print measures approximately 4.5 x 7 inches, the frames measure 9.5 x 6. The prints have yellowed slightly with age, the edges are soiled very slightly, but the colorful imagery is spectacular .Takahashi Hiroaki works were mainly exported to the West, where they were avidly sought by European and American collectors as representing views of "Old Japan" |
