This is the first postcard sized woodblock by Shiro that I have found, measures 3 3/4 by 6 inches, 2 ink smudges as you can see in the margins when it was printed. From the Robert O. Muller collection

Japanese woodblock prints (2) by Shiro Kasamatsu. Single-owner sale, from the same G.I.’s estate as last week, an impressive collection of Watanabe tourist prints. Stored in his trunk in their original tissue wrapping, they are all pre-war, guaranteed, and in fresh, uncreased condition. Two small horizontal landscapes with beauties. One of a bijin on the grounds of a temple at night (3 1/2” x 5 5/8”), the other of a bijin under a willow overlooking a lotus pond on a windy day (3 /12” x 5 1/2”). Very rare, I suspect. Published by Watanabe in the 1930s, signed and sealed Shiro.
