Artist: Chikanobu (Triptych) Date: 1890 Size/Format: Oban triptych, each sheet 14ins by 9.5ins. Description: March: from the series 'Customs and Manners of Edo for each of the 12 months'. Three bijin accompanied by children gather shells from tidal pools. Series: Edo Fuzoku Juni Kagetsu no Uchi Publisher: Yokoyama Ryohachi Condition: Slight overall trimming. A few minor marks and flaws but generally very good. Impression: Very good.

PUBLISHER: Yokoyama Ryohachi. CONDITION: Slight overall trimming, some areas of offset printing, minor marks and flaws, otherwise very good impression, colour and condition. Retains Japanese album backing.

Subject: A delightful print depicting bijin and small children gathering shells in the early morning.
Date: c. 1880's
Condition: Slightly trimmed. Remains of album backing paper on verso. Slightly soiled. A small offsetting spot at centre base of left sheet. Minor thinning, marks and flaws. Generally quite good state.
Colour: Fine colors.
Impression: Fine impressions with gauffrage and burnishing. |
