Kuchi-e: The Purple Kimono

Artist: Takeuchi Keishu
Format: Aiban tate-e: 10.75" x 8.5"

Subject: The half-length portrait of a young beauty wearing a purple kimono walking in a Pine garden.

Date: c. 1900

Condition: Slightly trimmed. Two horizontal foldmarks. Slight soils and offsetting. Minor rubbing, marks and flaws. Generally good state.

Colour: Fine colors.

Impression: Very good impression with gauffrage and silver pigment.

Kuchi-e: Bijin and Pine Tree

Artist: Takeuchi Keishu
Format: Aiban tate-e: 11.25" x 8.25"

Subject: Three-quarter length portrait of a bijin on a misty morning with Pine trees silhouetted behind her.

Date: c.1910

Condition: Laid down on an album page with mica decorated edges. The usual kuchi-e fold-marks. Light creases and wear. Some soiling. Minor marks and flaws. Generally quite good state.

Colour: Good

Impression: Very good with gauffrage
