ITO YUHAN Japanese Woodblock Print FOREST shoson shotei

"Forest Path"(???)

This is a One-Owner Collection, made up of many different artists. The woodblocks were collected from the early 1940's to 60's by an American woman who ran nursing schools in Asia. She passed away last year at the tender age of 94!
She took great care to pick out the best in color and sharp impressions for each image. We cannot stress strongly enough how very bright and crisp the colors are, our photography does not do them justice. Most of the prints have never been exposed to light as they were stored in a vulcanized travel trunk in the hall closet! They are in pristine condition for their age.
These wood block prints have never been framed or glued down - they're just lightly tacked down at 2 corners.
These exceptional Ito Yuhan prints are oban size ( about 14 3/4" x 9 3/4"). They all have something written in Japanese characters down the lower left margin. No rips, tears, toning, foxing, etc etc.
