Comments: This print was designed by Shozaburo Watanabe (using the artist name Kako), the founder of S. Watanabe Color Print Co.
From the Robert O. Muller collection.
This is an amazing print to have. Signed by Kako Watanabe who is Watanabe Shozaburo. He took the name Kako for his name as an artist which is derived from his birth town and river's name. He only made two print designs, out of a reported 4. Two designs he destroyed, leaving the two designs I will be listing tonight. VERY rare, they were both printed in 1936. They are large prints, this measures 17 by 11 1/4. I don't know if I will ever have another of either of these wonderful woodblock prints.
