Sudden Rain at Shiobara Hataori by Kawase Hasui. Original Japanese woodblock print dated Showa 30 (1955) in bottom margin. Print is numbered in Japanese 169/500 above Watanabe K seal in lower right of verso. Watanabe J sticker in lower left of verso. Nearly pristine condition. One tiny foxing spot in left margin. Very fine impression and color. This print comes with the original folder. This print has never been framed and retains original colors. Print measures 19.2 x 8.1 inches. Strong texture and ink bleed through on fine Japanese washi. Compare to same image on page 595 "Kawase Hasui - The Complete Woodblock Prints". Rain at Hatori Shiobara (Shiobara Hatori no Ame) by Kawase Hasui. Original woodblock print date March Showa 30. Fine color condition and impression. 19.6 x 8.0 inches. Strong texture and ink bleedthrough on Hosho washi. Red Watanabe K seal and also J paper label on verso. Numbered 56/500 on verso.

The folder has the watermarks of the crest of Watanabe family and the two kinds of Hasui seals.
Note The edition number in Japanese and the Watanabe gift seal are stamped on the back. The copyright seal of Watanabe is pasted on the back.
