Condition: Very fine. Strong, blind-stamped embossing on the white fur of the cat.
Notes: Copyright seal in lower left margin. Seal of printer (Komatsu) and carver (Maeda) in lower right margin.

PROVENANCE: An American family collection, by descent from their Grandfather who purchased the print directly from the Kawaguchi publishing firm, about 1930. The collection has been in America since 1935; carefully preserved; never matted or framed.
A wonderful image of a cat chasing a mouse overturning a lantern as he does. Pristine condition it measures 10 3/4 by 15 inches.

Impression Excellent … Embossed.
Colors Excellent … Light mica.
Condition Very good … Light discoloration along the left margin edge. Dark mounting residues on the back are seen from the front on the four margin corners.
