| Notes (this edition) These notes were written by the original owner/seller/auctioner of the item and may be inaccurate.: | Wednesday, 14 January 2009 I researched this artist online and found out that H. Saito was a Western style watercolorist. This Japanese woodblock print is signed and sealed in lower left within the image and signed H. Saito in pencil on the lower right margin, it is dated in the left margin Showa 10 (1935), on the back of the print, lower left it is stamped with the publisher's information H. Takemura, 16" x 10 3/4", very strong colors, full margins, deckled edges, and never framed, not toned. This is a beautiful night scene in the rain with bokashi (gradation of color). |
