Notes (1st edition)Yamakawa Shûhô (1898-1944) Dusk, from the series "Four images of women" (Fujo yondai - Tasogare) Signature Shuho Size: 36.3 x 24.1 cm. (14.3" x 9.5"). Published in 1928 by Bijutsu-sha. Literature: The Female Image, plate 155. There was also a chuban-sized version of this scene printed in 1974 and included with the Kawase Hasui series The New Eight Best Views of Japan album series.

Fine impression, colours and condition - the pictures give a very good idea of the state of the print. Look especially at the use of mica, sprinkled over the print - there is one pinhole in the hair, practically invisible - but it should be mentioned. Saturday, 9 April 2011
