Notes (this edition) These notes were written by the original owner/seller/auctioner of the item and may be inaccurate.: | Monday, 7 July 2008 Punt by Moonlight Artist: Kiyochika Format: Large oban yoko-e: 10.75" x 15.75" Subject: The blocks for this series - Views of Japan - were in preparation when Kiyochika died in 1915 and were first issued shortly thereafter. The set appears to comprise some 26 designs and is exceptionally rare. Each print bears the publisher's stamp verso together with the notation Kiyochika Fukei Shin-ga Hampu kai i.e. of a limited edition. Publisher: Daikokuya (Matsuki Heikichi) Date: c.1915 Condition: Full size. A few printer's creases in margins. Minor marks and flaws. Generally fine state. Title and publisher's marks on verso (see second scan). Watermark in left margin. Kiyochika characters and red seals on left side of image. Still retain bright colors. |
