This is an genuine original Japanese woodblock print by great shin-hanga artist Gihachiro Okuyama (1907-1981) titled "A view of Mt. Koma-ga-take from a lake with tree-covered island in Oonuma Park" (Oonuma Koen kara Koma-ga-take). This print is from early the best Gihachiro Okuyama works, first edition published in 1949. Very rare. The print is not trimmed, has full margins. Great impression, color and registration. Signed and sealed by artist in the image and titled in kanji at the margin. Carver Maeda, printer Inomura. Oban size 16 1/4" x 10 1/4". Paper slightly toned, several pinholes on the corners of the margins . Monday, 16 October 2006

Oonuma Koen kara Komagatake (Komagatake from Oonuma Park) by Gihachiro Okuyama. Original Japanese woodblock print dated summer Showa 24 (1949) in left margin. Fine color, condition and impression. Never been framed. Oban size measures 10.2 x 16.4 inches. Maeda carver's seal and Inomura printer's seal in right margin. Gihachiro characters and red Okuyama seal in lower right of image.
