Shin Hanga: Bijin and Mirror

Artist: Onuma Chiyuki
Format: Large oban tate-e: 16.75" x 11" approx

Subject: A full length portrait of an elegant Showa bijin standing on a cushion to dress in front of a cheval mirror.

Chiyuki Onuma also designed a series of woodblocks depicting bust portraits of beautiful women with one image for each month in 1958 in strong pastel colors. The series was published by Shobunsha in Tokyo.

Impression: Very fine with beautifully graded pink to gray bokashi background.
