Dramatic image of large pine trees along the shore, their dark branches against the morning sky. Signed and sealed in red.

With Watanabe 6mm 'C seal'
Dated 1934
In very good condition.
This is a genuine original shin hanga Japanese woodblock print by Kawase Hasui, titled "Teranohama, Sanuki Coast", dated Showa 9 May (1934), published by Watanabe Shozaburo and bears the Watanabe "D" seal (1931-1941). The print is from the series "Collection of Senic Views of Japan II, Kansai Edition" (Nihon fukei shu II Kansai hen).
The print is in very good condition. Fine early impression, excellent color, registration and bleedthrough. No foxing, toning, folds or creases. The print is not trimmed or setdown. There are two small pieces of white acid-free tape affixed to the verso which does not affect the image. Paper size is 10.25" x 15".
