Notes (1st edition)Artist: Shiro Kasamatsu (1898-1991) Japan Title: Bamboo In Early Summer / Unsodo. Peaceful rural image of Japanese farmhouse under a full moon. The seals in the left margin are: published by Unsodo, carver Nagashima Michio, printer Niimi Saburo. First Edition margin dating 1954, prior to the termination of cooperation between Kasamatsu, Asano and Unsodo. Unsodo "Un" watermark in the lower left corner of the paper. Measurements: image 9.5 x 14.25 inches, paper 10.75 x 16 inches

Condition: good without damage or repair, with slight toning. Unsodo smudge lower right corner. Unframed. Early Summer Bamboo by Shiro Kasamatsu. Genuine woodblock print. Heisei era impression. Title, Sako printer's seal, Nagajima carver's seal, Unsodo publisher's seal and Gei watermark in left margin. Shiro character's and red seal in lower right of image. Oban size measures 16.0 x 10.8 inches. Good textue and ink bleedthrough.
