Offered here is a wonderful and Rare Japanese Shin-Hanga woodblock print of a Kingfisher by Ohara Shoson, the premier Japanese print artist of the birds & flower genre. This imposing print depicts a kingfisher resting on a wooden stump in snow with crab cages nearby. It bears the oval publisher stamp of Kawaguchi & Sakai in the bottom right corner of the margin and is circa late 20s or very early 30s. It measures 15 3/4" by 10 1/2". It is in Excellent condition with strong impression and color. The reverse has two old glue stains from the previous mounting.
