| Notes (this edition) These notes were written by the original owner/seller/auctioner of the item and may be inaccurate.: | Shino Kasamatsu Japanese Woodblock Print 1963 - "Red Parasol" - Self Published Description: Rare, self published Japanese woodblock print by artist Shino Kasamatsu (1898-1991.) The print is entitled: "Red Parasol" and the date is 1963. My understanding is that this image was printed in a limited edition of 200. This may be number 46 from the edition, as indicated by the number in the corner. The print looks like it was trimmed; only half the title is visible and possibly the edition size/number was in the left corner (where only the number 46 is visible.) Size: 15 1/4" X 10 1/2" The print is dry mounted on a piece of balsa wood and the number 00445 is hand written on the back. Condition: The condition is very good since the print was originally framed and under glass. Colors are crisp and the image is sharp. This is very important, as this is the FIRST PRINT taken off the block when it was absolutely fresh and crisp!!! It was done in 1963 and is considered one of Kasamatsu’s BEST prints!
