Notes (this edition) These notes were written by the original owner/seller/auctioner of the item and may be inaccurate.: | This work is by Nakao Yoshitaka and is titled Nude. Yoshitaka was featured in Oliver Statler's books as a post-war artist of notable ability.
My personal assessment: this work is immediately captivating and provides so many artistic aspects it will continue to engage for deeper views. Where "east meets west" is so often a short story, this work speaks with its own voice. So much has been made of the traditional japanese print "opening to the west" in the last 60 years with results being compelling but derivative. This one stands out AND on its own.
Condition: The print (image area) is approx. 22" x 34" (overall border is 29.5" x 42.5") and the condition is quite good; bleed-through and an indented texturing are complete. Ample margins. Please view the images to discern all the relevant details. |
