ORIGINAL WOODBLOCK BY UMETARO AZECHI(1902-1999) TITLE: IN JAPANESE ON VERSO, SUBJECT IS OF A MOUNTAIN MAN WITH ROPE. POLYCHROME IMPRESSION. SIZE 12 5/8" x 17 5/8", PUBLISHED IN 1953, CARVED, PRINTED AND PUBLISHED BY THE ARTIST. EDITION 50 PRINTS OF WHICH THIS PRINT IS #30. SIGNED IN PENCIL AT THE BOTTOM 53 U. AZCECHI 30/50, WITH ARTIST RED SEAL AT RIGHT. CONDITION: VERY GOOD, COLOR AND IMPRESSION VERY GOOD. NEVER LAID DOWN. VARIOUS PRINTER'S INK SPOTS IN TOP AND RIGHT MARGIN, TOP MARGIN SLIGHTLY TONED, SCATTERED TRACES OF GREY INK FROM PRINTS BLOCK ON RIGHT SIDE. TAPE RESIDUE ON ENTIRE TOP VERSO Azechi woodblock print. #28 of 50. I am selling this for a friend after the death of her husband. Here is what she says about the print.

Beardsley purchased this print in November 1962 from a professor associated with UCLA. Name of artist is: Azechi. I believe the name of the print is "The Skier" or "Famous Skier".
