Original Kunisada II (1823 - 1880) Japanese Woodblock Print Courtesan with Crane Kimono Series; Comparison of Portraits of Beauties
Courtesan with Crane Kimono - Terrific design of an elegant young courtesan wearing a beautiful dark blue kimono patterned with cranes, a lucky symbol in Japan. She holds a small lacquer caddy and a slender spoon as she looks ahead. A lovely portrait with rich, deep color.
Artist - Kunisada II (1823 - 1880) Image Size - 13 3/4" x 9 1/2" + margins as shown Condition - With excellent color and detail as shown. A few small holes, repaired, blends well. Creasing throughout, slight soiling, slight fraying at edges. Please see photos for details. Good overall. |
