Original Signed 1956 Japanese Woodblock Shuzo Ikeda Famous Listed Artist This fascinating woodblock point was by a very famous Japanese master print maker and artist, name Shuzo Ikeda. It is a 1956 monotype, signed with crayon, and was originally entitled #51. It is a wonderful Expressionist study of a cat like young girl...truly fascinating. This woodblock is in the original condition as it was acquired, being laid down, matted and framed. It appears to be in very good condition...and a fine, collectible art woodblock print. This piece is housed within a contemporary black wood frame, measuring 18 1/4" x 24 3/4". |
> > Hello Ross, > > I found this Shuzo in our stock and remebered that on your website you > have this Artist in your want list. > Please find pic of it attached. > I am sorry but I don't know more than The Artist ikeda Shuro, born 1922, > and that it is printed on thick paper
We don't think that it is trimmed, as the margins are looking good, having some slight ink spots and dirt. They appear "soft" and not with a hard edge like trimmed ones. The size is 46,8cm x 32,1 cm.
In the bottom Margin is only two numbers looking like: -56 (41) It is signed with silver pen??, SHU. IKEDA |
