Artist: Sadao Watanabe Description: The recumbant Mary raises her hand to greet the three kings approaching with gifts in close knit group; Watanabe has exaggerated the length of her fingers to emphasize her gesture - a device used frequently by him. In this, and in the colorful, linear, expressive style, Watanabe's work reminds of early medieval book illuminations which also illustrated the old and new testament; these were an inspiration to the Artist, whose devout beliefs are so touchingly reflected in his Works.
