Subject: Fusoku Sanjuniso - The 32 Aspects of Women. A young fireman's wife in the Kaei era

Publisher: Tsunashima Kamekichi

Date: 22.3.1888

Condition: Completely full size with margins. Light crease on the girl's face. Minor marks and flaws. Generally fine state.

Colour: Fine colours

Impression: Superb of the 1st edition with use of lacquer and burnishing. Three colour title cartouche.

32 Aspects of Women: #19 Looking 'Impatient'

Format: Oban tate-e: 14" x 9.5" approx

Subject: #19 A fireman's wife of the Kaei era (1848/54) seated, impatiently waiting beside his robe. From the series, Thirty-two Aspects of Customs and Manners of Women, which we shall be auctioning in its entirety over the next few weeks.

Publisher: Tsunashima Kamekichi

Date: 1888

Condition: Very slightly trimmed. Laid down on album backing, as issued. Two small stains in title cartouche. Some minor offsetting and a water stain at base. Minor soils, marks and flaws. Generally very good state.

Colour: Fine

Impression: Fine 1st edition with 3-color title cartouche.

Condition: Full size. Tape marks at top corners on verso. Slightly toned. Some light creases. Minor soils, marks and flaws. Generally quite good state.

Colour: Very good colors.

Impression: Fine impression with gauffrage and burnishing.

Condition: Fine colors. Full size with large margins. This example (unlike most) has never been backed. A repaired corner bottom left. Minor creases, marks and flaws. Generally good state of preservation.

Impression: Very good impression with gauffrage.
