Engakuji Temple in Kamakura by Shiro Kasamats. Original Genuine woodblock print. Fine condition. Never been framed. Oban size measures 16.0 x 10.9 inches. Red Shiro seal and characters in lower right of image. Title, Unsodo publisher's seal, Shinmi printer's seal, Nagajima carver's seal, and Gei watermark in left margin.
This is the rarely seen first edition, with 1954 dating text.

Hiraizumi Konjikido Shrine by Shiro Kasamatsu. Genuine woodblock print. Later impression made from original wood blocks. Fine condition. Oban size measures 16.0 x 10.8 inches. Good texture and ink bleed through on fine Japanese washi. Title, Unsodo publihser's seal, Morimitsu printer's seal, Nagashima carver's seal and watermark in left margin. "Hiraizumi Konjikido"(Konjiki Shrine, Hiraizumi) by Shiro Kasamatsu. Pristine condition. Paper size is 16 by 10 and 3/4 inches. Wonderful details with typical Unsodo printer's "smudge" in right margin which will be easily mat out. Unsodo "Gei watermark" lower left margin corner. Signed Shiro, artist, Unsodo, publisher, Nagashima, carver and Morimitsu, printer. Excellent shading and ink bleed through. Genuine Japanese woodblock print. Undated. First published in 1954 this later impression from original blocks. Very quiet and peaceful rainy scene at shrine. Artist: Shiro Kasamatsu. Title: "Konjikido Shrine, Hiraizumi." Publisher: Unsodo. Date: 1954. Size: 16 x 10.75 inches (image size 14.5 x 9.5 inches). Condition: Full size with First Edition seals for Publisher, Carver, Printer and Artist. Includes the date-seal in the margin that indicates a First Edition. This date-seal was carved off of the blocks in subsequent printings. Excellent color, impression and state. Reference: Grund #U41. The publisher has stated that the initial production run of the first edition was typically 100 copies.
