Early and important Japanese woodblock print, by one of Japan's most important modern printmakers. 22 1/2"(57cm.)x16"(40.5cm). I retained the artists label from the back of the frame, signed and titled "Woodpecker" and numbered 28/50 Very good condition, but pasted down on cardboard, with I assume a archival paste as there is no evidence of staining or foxing. Removed from original glazed frame, and straw matte.
Kaoru Kawano (1916 1955) Japanese Woodblock Print. Girl with two birds, #6/50. This woodblock has serious damage in both front and back with water. 17 3/4" x 23 1/2".
