A dai oban yoko-e woodblock print by Kawano Kaoru, Winter Mansion, depicting a palace scene across a winter landscape. Numbered 46 of 50 and with pencil signature.
Kaoru Kawano (1916-1965) ... oban tat-e (10 1/4 x 15 1/4 inches) color woodblock print ... "Kawano" red seal lower right (in tree) ... Publishers seal on reverse in black ... Title: unknown? ... Condition: Excellent. No rips, tears or scratches to image or paper. No paper toning. A very clean and crisp print. GREAT deckled edges on top and both sides ... Framed in new archival mat only ... Kawano is best know for his images of children and birds ... This a a very RARE landscape for this artist.
