UP FOR AUCTION IS A FABULOUS PENCIL SIGNED AND STAMPED WOODBLOCK PRINT OF A CRANE BY KAORU KAWANO. THE COLOR IS ABSOLUTELY RICH AND THERE HAS BEEN NO DAMAGE, FLAKING OR FADING. THE SILVER IS STRIKING. IT MEASURES 9 3/16" WIDE BY 7 1/2" LONG. THE MATTING IS 10" WIDE BY 8 1/8" LONG. THE FRAME WAS NEW SO I HAVE REMOVED IT FROM THE STAINLESS FRAME.
Up for auction is this SUPER original SIGNED woodblock print of a drum by Japanese artist Kawano Kaoru. He lived from 1916-1965 and is listed in the Davenports art price guide. This is a really nice example of his work. Here is your opportunity to own a great piece of art by a significant early and mid 20th century artist! Printed part is 6" by 4"- and paper is 11 1/8" by 8 1/2". The paper has never been folded, and the printed part looks perfect. Some of the plain paper border has some minimal wrinkly places. There are two pin hole in the two upper corners new the edge. One edge is smooth, the other edge looks fuzzy.

Impression Good ... Posthumous printing.
Colors Excellent - very good ... Silver colored metallic pigment.
Condition Excellent - very good ... A printer's crease on the upper margin.
