Notes (this edition)
These notes were written by the original owner/seller/auctioner of the item and may be inaccurate.:
Up for auction is a Japanese woodblock print by Tamami Shima (1937-1999). The paper measures 17 1/8" by 11 7/8" and the image is 14.75" by 10". It is hand signed in pencil with the artist's name, "1961" and the edition 13/100. The print was just removed from the frame it appears to have been in since the time of the print's creation. There are light burn marks and some masking tape is still attached to the back of the print. There are no folds, tears, foxing or creases. I held the print up to the light and the only hole is one at the top, middle where it was once tacked up. The green paint or ink in the leaves has "bubbled" somewhat which may be normal. Ringo - Apple
Paper size: 30 x 42.5 cm. Printed in 1961. Titled, signed and dated in pencil in the bottom margin.

Euro 95

Fine impression and colours, very good condition: some creases on two corners (outside the image) and a few traces of a previous mounting. Note: the dark edge around the image is not a mat line, but the result of Tamami Shima having used oil-based pigments.
This is a beautiful original Japanese woodblock print by sosaku hanga printmaker Shima Tamami, one of very few female printmakers in the sosaku hanga movement. This print measures about 15 x 10 plus full margins. Good condition; there is some faint toning in the margins, less visible in person than in the scan. Pencil signed and numbered 72/100; dated 1961.
