Original woodblock print by Kiyoshi Saito. A peaceful village scene. Kiyoshi Saito is one of Japan's most famous 20th century artists. Print is in very good condition. It does have almost imperceptible toning in the margins, in most lighting it cannot be seen. The print has been laid down on heavy paperboard. The margins are full on top and sides, 1 1/2" with deckled edges. The bottom margin has been trimmed to 1/2". Sight size of print is 9 3/4" X 14 1/4". Pencil signed on left below artist's seal. A very nice Saito print. It is unframed but does come with a nice silk covered mat.

Here is an authentic Kiyoshi Saito woodblock print entitled " Summer in Aizu" This woodblock was purchased in 1967 by the president of US Steel while in Kyoto, Japan. The piece was purchased at the Red Lantern Shop in the Miyako Hotel there. All the information is on the back. The image measures 10" by 14". There is some foxing in some areas, I have tried to show it as best as possible. Good condition overall.
