Seal artist's seal Dated ca. 1950s Technique/Medium Woodblock print Impression excellent � (later edition in 1970-80s) Colors excellent � gold colored metallic pigment Condition excellent - very good � slight creases on the margins. Description Illustration for "the Tale of Genji", chapter 24, Kocho. The scene of a court party on Chinese style pleasure boats. Note Supervised by Matsuda Takeo, Carver Watanabe Kazuo, Printer Watanabe Yoshiaki. Format Oban yoko-e Width 15.9 inches = 40.3 cm Height 10.5 inches = 26.7 cm artelino # 16116 : Kocho � size of the image-printed area : 377 x 251mm. Yours: 306 x 211mm!!!	Butterfly from Lady Murasaki's "The Tale of Genji". Original woodblock print by Masao Ebihara circa 1950ish. Very good condition. Some light foxing as shown. 9.3 x 13.0 inches. Good ink bleed through. Nice mica. Artist's seal in lower left of image. Looks like 14 wood blocks used to make this print.
