Description Illustration for "the Tale of Genji", chapter 24, Kocho. The scene of a court party on Chinese style pleasure boats.
Note Supervised by Matsuda Takeo, Carver Watanabe Kazuo, Printer Watanabe Yoshiaki.

Butterfly from Lady Murasaki's "The Tale of Genji". Original woodblock print by Masao Ebihara circa 1950ish. Very good condition. Some light foxing as shown. 9.3 x 13.0 inches. Good ink bleed through. Nice mica. Artist's seal in lower left of image. Looks like 14 wood blocks used to make this print.
