Good Japanese Woodblock Print depicting a winter scene with a snowman and children, seal and signature on the lower right and looks like the work of Nagai Iku but I cannot confirm this. Printers mark on the matte reads: Uchida Woodblock Printer Takakura, Takeyamachi Street Kyoto, Japan, and I believe it to be vintage 1960s. Original black lacquer frame with a pine back. Overall measures 18 5/8 inches wide & 13 7/8 inches high, the print itself measures 16 9/16 inches wide and just over 10 1/2 inches high. Overall very good condition with some wear to the lacquer frame and some wear to the exterior edges of the print but nothing significant.
This relief block print , 14 3/4" x 9 3/4" (image size) is in a matte and frame 19 3/4" x 15". The sturdy bamboo style frame shows slight wear. The print utilizes the technique of "gauffrage", a subtle effect that was a favorite device of Japanese print makers. In this process, printers often used an extra uninked block to give an embossed pattern to a robe. The print is signed SHO SHIN, a nickname meaning "Small Belief". The printer's mark has been identified as Uchida Wood Block Printer, Kakura Takeyamachi Street, Kyoto Japan

This is an original woodblock print titled "SNOWMAN" (Winter) by KONOBU HASEGAWA (1914- ). The print measures 16 1/2" by 10 7/8" and is in good condition with no tears or stains although it does have toning on the back and toning from the mat on the face. The colors are crisp and vivid. It bears the artists signature and seal and was published by the Uchida Wood-Block Printing Company in Kyoto, Japan and was done in the late 1940's. It comes to you with its' original matted folder and is tacked down at the two upper corners.
