Artist Goyo

Comment Mica background and obi.
The line that appears on the scan is an artifact of piecing two scans. The mica background and obi are very reflective.
This print was based on a drawing of a waitress. The work existed only in proofs at the time of Goyo's death, but the printing was carried out by his brother and his son.
This is from the first edition.
Condition: No condition problems to note
Natsu Yosoi no Musume (Daugher in a summer kimono) by Hashiguchi Goyo. Genuine woodblock print. Print is dated August Taisho 9 (1920). Later impression limited to 150 copies. Pristine condition. Never been framed. 21.3 x 13.3 inches. Tan mica background. White mica on obi. Strong texture on thick washi. Nice baren rubbings on verso. Narazaki print group seals in left margin. Comes with original presentation folder.
Signed- Goyo-ga with red artist’s seal
Sealed- In blue in margin by publisher, carver and printer
Image size- 11” x 20 1/2” (as with original Goyos, large woodblock print)
Condition- Perfect, no toning, tears, not mounted, full margins
