This is a great old Japanese woodblock print; it is pencil signed by the artist "Koho" and pencil titled "Canal by Moonlight". The print has the publisher's seal in red on the lower RH corner. There is heavy bleedthrough on the back as shown in photo; the print is attached at the top only (would come off easily) on a 2nd mat; the mat that is signed lays over it. The sides of the mats appear to have been slightly trimmed, probably to fit a frame; it was framed when we purchased it and we removed it in order to inspect it thoroughly. There is slight toning but nothing objectionable; the print lays completely flat; no wrinkling and no damage; nice strong impression and great color; no fading. The image size is 9 3/4" x 7"; the mat size is 14" x 11". |
