| Notes (this edition) These notes were written by the original owner/seller/auctioner of the item and may be inaccurate.: | This print by Hasui is titled "Mt. Fuji in the Moonlight, Kawaibashi" ("Tsukiyo no Fuji, Kawabashi"), and was originally carved and printed in 1947. This is a later edition, printed directly off of Hasui's original blocks. Superbly executed "bokashi" shading; woodgrain visible in sky. Print is in excellent condition. This fine Hasui print is one of five images recently re-issued by Watanabe Publisher. Later impression from original blocks. Oban size measures 15.4 x 10.2 inches. Fine condition. Never been framed. Title and date in left margin. Red Heisei era Watanabe seal in right margin. Good ink penetration. One of Hasui's most beautiful evening scenes. |

The rich blue tones of nighttime are a classic Hasui depiction. The beautiful old bridge leads to the lit houses over the river.
