Original Japanese woodblock print by Bakufu Ohno (1888 – 1976) and published in 1951 by Kyoto Hana-in. Signed and sealed in the lower right corner of the print together with the publisher’s stamp in the lower left corner margin. This is one of four similar prints now at auction that depict four stages in rice growing. This one is titled “Rice Reaping” as titled on the web site of OHMI gallery that shows a large selection of Bakufu Ohno’s woodblock prints.

DIMENSIONS: Sheet size 15.625 x 10.625 inches.

CONDITION: Very good; it is lightly glued at the left corners to a backing paper as issued; otherwise nearly pristine. Not laid down.
One of my favorite pieces, this ia a beautiful Japanese print printed in Kyoto-Hanga in 1952, signed in characters and English B. Ohno, and along with additional chop marks has imprint of "Shinagawa". Size is approx. 11 by 15+". Very strong design, wonderful detail

Here for auction without reserve is this "SUPERB" Japanese woodblock by listed artist Bakufu Ohno.
Untitled, the image is still in the original frame with stamped date of July 3, 1954 on back. Image showing measures about 9 1/2 x 14 inches. Frame is 19 3/4 x 14 1/2 inches. Signed at lower right in Japanese and English and having artist's seal.

Fine impression and fresh color. No hint of fading, time stain or foxing. Though not removed from frame, I am assuming that the print has full margins with the date and printer's stamps.
