This print was created by Ohara Koson aka Shoson or Hoson (1877-1945) the great artist of shin-hanga in kacho-e (birds and flowers prints). Here is one of his great prints “Eagle on snowy tree bough”. Was published and printed by Daikokuya and more rare and better quality edition by Nishinomiya about 1910 (I’m offering the print from this edition), print bears a text on a left margin “Hanken Shoyu Nishinomiya Yosaku”. Signed and sealed Koson. With hand painted embellishments of “gofun” as a snow. Tanzaku size 14 1/2" by 8 1/4" with full margins. Print reproduced on p.86 in “Crows, cranes & camellias (The natural world of Ohara Koson)”. Fine impression, excellent color , bleedthrough and registration - pristine condition. The print is not backed or mounted.
