"Snow at Nezugongen Shrine", an original woodblock print by Kawase Hasui, dating from 1933! This print has strong colors and it bears the early edition Watanabe "C" seal in the lower right margin. There are some condition problems to note. On the left side just above the temple roof, there is a repaired tear extending into the image about 1 inch. On the right side is another smaller tear (also repaired) into the margin and image, about 1/2 inch long. On the bottom margin under the red Hasui seal is a repaired small tear in the margin. The upper right corner has been rebacked with Japanese paper. There is minor toning in the upper margin and reverse. Other than these problems, this is a beautiful Hasui snow scene with strong colors. The size is oban, about 10 x 15 inches.

Later sold at $350, 2002
