The print is in very good condition. Fine impression, strong color and bleedthrough. No foxing, toning or folds. There are some soft handling creases in the left margin. |
It is signed by the artist Kaoru Kawano (1916-1965) and his stamp in red is in the corner. It was sent from Japan as a gift back in the 60s. I do not know the date. The print is unframed. It is in very good condition with no tears or stains. |
Thursday, 1 September 2005 Estate Sale find from a beautiful home of a collector of Asian Art. I'm selling this beautiful Kawano Kaoru Woodblock print. SIGNED on the bottom right corner. Woodblock is 11" by 7 1/2" and frame around 21" by 17 1/4". Woodblock condition: slight toning and mat burn on the margin, otherwise good condition. |
