Old wood block print in sealed frame under glass. Please excuse the weird angle of photo, it is tough to get a picture without glass reflection. Outside frame size is 9 1/2" x 12 1/2" - Mat opening is 7" x 9 3/4". Overall condition is good, paper seal on back side is fragile and torn.
This print was created by Eijiro Kobayashi the well known artist of shin-hanga. His style reminds the prints by Shotei aka Hiroaki or Komei. This print “Pagoda at night” from the series “Night scenes”, published and printed by Nishinomiya Yosaku in 1930, print bears a text on a left margin “Hanken Shoyu Nishinomiya Yosaku”. Chuban size 11 1/4 " by 8". Fine impression, excellent color , bleedthrough and registration - pristine condition. The print is not backed or mounted.
