Tokuriki, Tomokichiro- Unknown- Fuji and road- 1.jpg is:

Izu no Kaigan by Tokuriki Tomikichiro. Genuine woodblock print. Oban size measures 11.3 x 16.2 inches. Good condition. Some foxing as shown in scan. Some soft margins. Good ink bleedthrough. Uchida Hanga seal under Tomikichiro characters.

A lovely Japanese woodblock print, "Mt Fuji Viewed at Izu Peninsula", featuring Mt Fuji in the background. Tokuriki (1902-2000) was a well known Japanese artist popular in the fifties for his beautiful woodblock prints in subtle pastel colors. He continued an unbroken chain of family artists going back to the sixteenth century.

Approximate plate size: 11.3 x 16.2 inches

Image below shows print with lightweight paper mat on lightweight board. Print is lightly held in place on 2 spots on reverse of print…no damage to print.

Some discoloration on edges of matting, which does not affect print. Picture is a bit blurry because of photographer not because of rubbing.

This is a later edition (maybe 1950s/60s) and contains a slightly different publisher seal (but still Uchida).

Title is "Izu Coast" (shortened from the original title). Sig is "Tomikichiro".
