This is a beautiful Japanese woodblock print measuring 10 1/2” by 15 1/2”. The print is of flowers and is marked and signed Ono Bakufu who lived 1888 to 1976 and was one of the founders of Kyoto Hanga-in. The print is in good condition with only some staining and discoloration from the removed mat.
A lovely old, circa 1950, Block Print of a Bluebird on a Pink Rose Bush. The leaves on the bush are green and the background is a mint green. It is signed in the bottom right corner " B. Ohno " and there are two other Red Marks in Japanese. This print was professionally framed back in the 1950s and has the Frame Shop's original gold label on the back that reads " The Art Shop Carl H Meibohm PICTURES AND FRAMES ART CREATIONS EST 1901 326-328 CONNECTICUT ST. BUFFALO 13, N.Y." (see 7th photo). This print measures approximately 19" high x 14 1/2" across (framed) and still has the protective backing paper with the old wire for hanging. It is in excellent condition! There are no rips, holes, or stains, to the paper and the gold colored, wood, frame looks original!
