JAPANESE WOODBLOCK PRINT FRAMED KAWANO COQ

Japanese Woodblock Print stamped with the red seal of Kaoru Kawano , framed under glass, and sold in the frame. Stylized image of a Coq, Rooster. Certificate of provenance and seal of the framer are attached to the back of the frame, as shown in the photos. We do not know anything more about the provenance. Framed size is 17 inches x 11.5 inches. Image size viewable through the glass is 16 inches x 10.5 inches. The frame is a .5 inch faux red finished wood bamboo, sans mat.
This is a very nice original 1950's Japanese woodblock print. It depicts a wild-eyed running rooster with Mount Fuji as it's wings in a modern-art style. It is on a very black background woodblocked onto hand-made paper and has heavy bleedthrough en-verso. The subject matter measures 14 1/2" by 9" and the black frame measures 19" by 14" overall. Signed by the artist in the lower left with another stamp on the rear margin and framed by The House Of Frames in Sherman Oaks, Calif.
