Kaoru Kawano (Japanese, 1916-1965) Woodblock Print on paper Signed and Sealed
Up for sale is an original Woodblock Print signed by Kaoru Kawano. It is unframed, but comes with the most exquisite silk mat, ready to be framed. It measures 21.5" by 16" with the mat and 17" by 11 1/4" without. It is in excellent condition.
A Japanese woodblock print by Kaoru Kawano of an owl. Size: 16 5/8" x 11 3/16" . Pencil signature and a red stamped seal. Good condition print. I do not see a signature but there is a stamped cartouche and the words "made in japan". Print without mat measures about 11" X 17".
The artist is Kaoro Kaoru Kawano as signed in pencil. Paper is about 16" by 11 1/8".
Good color and bleed through.
Heavy Mica embellishment on the egg shell.

This is a very nice, vintage Japanese Woodblock print depicting an owl. Nice contrast with black, white, yellow and grey! The woodblock is double signed....once in the print and also in pencil by the artist, Kaoru Kawano. He is a listed artist who was born in 1916. Professionally framed and measures about 13.5 by 18.5 inches.
